  Day 1

Meet and assist clients on arrival and proceed to Kandalama. Overnight stay at Kandalama Hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast visit Sigiriya rock fortress.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.

Thereafter visit Dambulla.

Dambulla rock temple
Dambulla rock temple was built by king Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceilings, is the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres.

Day 3

After breakfast proceed to Minneriya.

Minneriya Elephant Gathering
The gathering of elephants at Minneriya is a wonderful opportunity for the wild life enthusiast and casual traveler to watch and observe the social dynamics of elephants at leisure. Sri Lankan Tourism has realized the potential of this uniqueness event and has now embarked on a campaign to popularize and publicize this event, branded as ‘The Gathering'. Already thousands of visitors are rushing to view this wonderful spectacle, and if properly managed and publicized, this could eventually become as popular and well-known the world over as the Masai Mara Wildebeest migration.

Thereafter proceed to Kandy. Enroute visit a Spice Garden in Matale.

Spice Garden
Visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Here, clients could see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed. Witness a Cookery demonstration.

Proceed to Kandy.

Kandy
Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and it is a World Heritage Site. The name "Kandy" conjures visions of splendour and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Thereafter witness a cultural show.

Day 4

After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Enroute visit a Tea Factory.

Tea Plantation and Factory
Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Here you could observe all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.

Proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka‘s most popular hill resort. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka‘s tea country producing a significant share of the world best tea. Sri Lanka‘s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. Nuwara-Eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia.

Day 5

After breakfast proceed to Kaluthara via Kitulgala. Enroute pass by St. Clairs, Devon and Aberdeen Waterfalls.

Kitulgala
The Kelani River (the broadest river in Sri Lanka) flowing through Kitulgala was the main location where the Oscar winning movie "Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed. On the hill above this town, a prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing large middens of shells from some unknown civilization. The town is situated on a particularly delightful stretch of the Kelani River that incorporates rock-strewn sections and rapids, often enclosed by high banks of tall bamboo, conditions ideal for the sport of white-water rafting. As a result Kitulgala has become the capital of white-water rafting in Sri Lanka.

After lunch proceed to Kalutara. Enroute visit a Gem Factory in Ratnapura. Overnight stay at Hotel Tangerine Kalutara


Day 6

After breakfast explore Kalutara and proceed to Colombo.

Kalutara
Kalutara is a resort town located approximately 40 km south of Colombo. Once an important spice-trading center, the city's name is derived from the Kalu Ganga River. The 38-meter long Kalutara Bridge was built at the mouth of the Kalu Ganga River and serves as a major link between the country's western and southern border. At the southern end of the bridge lies the 3 stories-high Kalutara Vihara, a Buddhist temple built in the 1960s which holds the distinction of being the only stupa in the world that is hollow.

Thereafter do a city tour in Colombo.
 
 
  The Tour Price includes the following
• Accommodation in standard room on bed & breakfast basis for 7 nights from breakfast on day 2 to breakfast on day 8 at hotels specified or at hotels specified or of similar standard.
• Transportation by air-conditioned vehicle throughout the Tour .

The Tour Price does not include the following
• Video and Camera permits at Kandy Temple and video permits at Pinnawala.
• Lunch & dinner throughout the tour.
• Christmas and New Year's eve supplements at hotels.
• Supplement for accommodation in Kandy during Kandy Esala Perahera period.
• Cost of ticket to view the Kandy Esala Perahera which will be held in Kandy
• Expenses of a personal nature.
• Any other services not specified above.

Visits to wild life parks will be at client's own risk. The jeeps available are very basic with basic insurance cover (not comprehensive as in the case of the vehicle, which will be used on the tour).
